Ebisu's Inbox
[For anyone who is familiar with Ebisu in person, they might be expecting the sound of a cute child on the answering machine.]
[They do not get a cute child's voice.]
[Instead, it's the voice of a young man, speaking calmly and professionally.]
Hello. You have reached the personal phone and temple of Ebisu, one of the Gods of Fortune. He and his shinki are currently busy right now, so please leave a message and someone will respond back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you, and have a nice day.

I'll have to get the time to practice it properly before I feel confident in using it. It'd be good if more of the temple could learn how to do it as well. You should bring it up to Ebisu and see if we can figure out some time to learn it properly. Our medical staff isn't as big as it used to be so if everyone could learn then it would be for the better.

[There's a brief frown at the memory of those three strange days, but she got some practice time in at least.]
But after you, I was going to send out a memo in the temple, as well as record something to post to the network for the sake of my generation. With how things have been, getting the information out as fast as possible and giving people a chance to practice means we might be ready for whatever happens next.
[Ginia pauses, fingers drumming against the table. She looks past him, a melancholy thoughtfulness passing over her eyes as she looks out the door of the conference room. It's a simple spell, but some healing is better than nothing. It's a good starting place for someone with more knowledge and time to expand on. Her eyes come back to Kimi as she starts signing again.]
If I disappear tomorrow, maybe I'll have managed to make a difference today.

[Reaching over, he cups her cheek in one hand and clumsily signs with the other.]
You've made a difference ever since you first arrived.
[And with that said, he leans in to press a kiss to her other cheek.]

Right, showing up after the bluntest email demanding information about the masks. I'm amazed you agreed to talk at all. Was Unmi there as muscle?
no subject
I~ can't fight~ for shit~.
[He can survive through a fight, like a coward, but he can't actually do it himself.]
Grampa Unmi has already saved my ass before, so I knew he could do the same in case anything started to go down hill or I couldn't persuade you well enough to leave peacefully. Besides, if I said anything out of turn, he could correct me on it, too.
no subject
I knew it. You're with me to have a hot bodyguard.
[She smirks a little, but she can't complain either. It's fine he can't fight as long as he can survive. If he's gotten this far, he'll be fine. But they're all lucky things went as they did.
Ginia's head cocks as she considers something.]
...I bet I could take Unmi on in hand-to-hand combat.
no subject
[This is, in fact, probably not true, but he's grinning enough that it's clear he'll run with it if allowed the chance. At her consideration, he leans back and twines his fingers together to stretch them out in front of him.]
Wouldn't mind seeing that... Him and Kunimi are some of the best in the temple when it comes to that kind of thing.
no subject
[As if there's time for frivolous fantasies with their current lifestyle, but maybe one day. No harm in joking around, though taking an expensive sports car out on town and going fast sure would be fun.]
If Unmi agrees and the office wants to place some bets, I'm game.
[Not that she's looking for a fight, but a friendly spar is a good way to keep her skills sharp.]
I'd fight Kunimi too, but I think our poor exemplar doesn't have the time for that. His physique is impressive and his vessel form is something else.
no subject
[Or not trash. Whatever happens. It's their action movie RPF story, they can live it out however they want.]
[A snort pops out of him as he leans back in his seat.]
The office always wants to place bets, so that wouldn't be hard. Just gotta find the time for literally any of us. I will warn you that I don't think there's a physical activity Kunimi can't do.
no subject
Kimi, did you once ask our fine exemplar to pin you?
no subject
It was sparring.
[So yes.]
But we are pretty sure he knows everything. Ebisu has always consistently liked him for that, although he'll start cheating if we're not careful.
no subject
Cheating...? [Ginia looks briefly confused before she snaps.] Using Kunimi's vessel form for mundane tasks, right.
[She can't really blame Ebisu given his clumsiness, but he'll never learn to do things on his own otherwise. It's not fair to overwork Kunimi either. Ginia is about to ask about some stories she's heard when her phone begins buzzing with notifications. Right. Work always calls.]
I should get back to my desk. Have time for dinner later?
no subject
[It doesn't help that a few of their coworkers are the types that would stick to helping him that way if they could, with Takami being the worst at it currently, but oh well. At the phone buzzing, Kimi gives an exaggerated sigh.]
Ah, and here I was hoping I could get more of an excuse for prolonging my break. But you'll definitely see me, I just have to tie some things up. A lot of things, really, but what else is new.
no subject
That doesn't mean Ginia can't steal a few more seconds. She closes her laptop and pockets her phone before leaning in to catch Kimi's mouth in a lingering kiss.]
no subject
[Or sometimes just physical attention.]
You're making it really hard to get back to work.
[But to work he will go.]
no subject
We'll just have to deal. See you at dinner.
[Alas, back to work.]
